A blank database that was manually built yields the following log error when running the configuration wizard for NCM:

Creating the database other than through the Configuration Wizard is not supported.


  1. Launch the NCM Configuration Wizard to build the database. 
  2. When the NCM configuraton Wizard asks for the SQL server credentials, use a Windows account of a SQL account with full SA rights.
  3. When prompted, select Create a new database and then click Next. NCM will create the DBO account it will use to access the NCM database for routine NCM operations. 
    Note: NCM assigns minimum access needed for NCM functionality.  If the DBO account is modified or restricted, NCM may not function properly or at all.
