Mikrotek Devices Reporting Extraneous Characters as Config Changes

Updated March 11th, 2016

Issue:

NCM reports config changes for random characters inserted into the config file.

Mikrotek devices insert such characters when the device is set to provide color output.

Solution:

Turn off the color output.

To turn off color output change the device login user name in this way: {username}+c. For example: admin+c.
