Local Config Archive - Unable to Create Folders for Some of the Device Config Backups

Overview

This article provides information related to the issue when NCM is not able to create folders within Config-Archive while backing up some devices.

Environment

  • NCM any version

Cause

This issue occurs if either \ (backslash) or / (forward slash) exists in the device name in Orion. Most often this name is used, through variable name ,in creating folders

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console
  2. Navigate to Settings > Node & Group Management > Manage Nodes
  3. Locate and select the device to be modified and click 'Edit Properties' as shown in the sample screenshot below

  4. Remove the either \ (backslash) or / (forward slash) from the device name and click 'Submit' at the bottom of the page (sample screenshots below)
