WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

The following error appears when upgrading or migrating to NCM version 7.3 or later:

We could not allocate a new page for our database 'DATABASE_NAME' because the filegroup 'FILEGROUP_NAME' lacks sufficient disk space.

Environment

NCM 7.3 and later

Cause

There were changes in the NCM database schema in v7.3.

Resolution

  1. Create additional disk space for the filegroup by adding space to the database storage.
Note: You may also check with your DBA if the filegroup is set to autogrow.
  2. Restart the migration after adding disk space:
    a. Click Start > Adminsitrative Tools > Services on your NCM host.
    b. Right-click SolarWinds Orion Module Engine, and then click Start.
