Overview

This article provides information on solving an issue and preventing NCM from downloading configs using SNMP/TFTP or SNMP/SCP setup. Please note that historically this approach was Cisco proprietary.

Environment

All NCM versions

Cause

Device itself or node within Orion is not properly configured. For the feature to work, the device must have read/write community (or credentials for SNMP v3) setup and also the node within Orion has to have read/write community (or credentials for SNMP v3) added.

Resolution

  1. Verify that the read/write community (or credentials for SNMP v3) is configured on the device. Refer to device's documentation or consult with the vendor.
  2. Verify that the read/write community (or credentials for SNMP v3) is configured on the node within Orion.
