Unable to cache diff results due to exception error

Overview

This article describes issues related to the following error:
Unable to cache diff results due to exception: System.IO.IOException: The file exists.

 

Environment

  • NCM 7.x

Cause 

Most likely cause is that the folders for temporary files are full.

 

Resolution

  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp and remove unnecessary files. Some of them may be locked by other processes. Ignore these files.
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\
  3. For each user folder, navigate to AppData\Local\Temp and remove any unnecessary files.
