Timeout Error when Attempting to Download Config from Devices

Updated March 11th, 2016

Overview

While trying to download configs from devices, the user receives a timeout error.

Environment

NCM all versions

Cause

User-level login credentials might have been incorrectly set in NCM Settings, which prevents the users from downloading the configs.

Resolution

In 'NCM Settings', make sure that the NCM users who need to download configs have the permission to access the device. These permissions are set in:

  • NCM Settings > User Level Login Credentials
  • NCM Settings > Security > Device Login & User Account Credentials

For example, if you need your NCM Users to download configs from NetScaler devices, you need to make sure that:

  • 'Individual - User Level' is selected in 'NCM Settings > Device Login & User Account Credentials >'
  • 'No Enable Login' is selected in 'NCM Settings > Security >  User Level Login Credentials > Enable Level'
