WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

In this article, you will learn the cause of having mix values for "Overall Running vs Startup Config Conflicts" charts.

You wanted to understand the values in Conflict / Non Conflict / Unknown and need to correct the Unknown values showing in the pie chart.

Why my chart is showing multiple values and how can I correct that?

Environment

NCM 7.0 and later

Cause

The Conflict status is showing as red for the devices which you have downloaded for both startup-configuration and running-configuration. When NCM compared both configuration, it found conflicts therefore, the pie chart is reelected with a red mark for these devices .

The No Conflict status is showing as green for the devices which you have downloaded for both startup-configuration and running-configuration. When NCM compared both configuration, it found NO conflicts therefore, the pie chart is reelected with a green mark for these devices .

Part of pie chart is showing as Unknown for the devices added in the Orion NCM because there was no configuration downloaded from these devices, or

There is only either a startup-configuration that was downloaded / or running-configuration was downloaded therefore, the status for the conflict is unknown.

Resolution

To correct the Unknown status, see Overall Running vs. StartUp Config Conflicts Chart shows Unknown.
