WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

This article provides a NCM Device Command Template to be used with Juniper EX4200 (1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.1.1.1.2.31) devices.

Environment

  • NCM 7.3 and later
  • Device: Juniper EX4200 (1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.1.1.1.2.31)

Steps

Depending on the version of NCM you are using, follow the relevant steps to add a template. For instructions, refer to the NCM Administrator Guide.

Use following lines as the actual content of the template:

<Configuration-Management Device="Juniper 4200_2" SystemOID="1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.1.1.1.2.31">
  <Commands>
    <Command Name="ALLOCATEPTY" Value="True" />
    <Command Name="CUSTOMUSERNAMEPROMPT" Value="login: " />
    <Command Name="ENABLECOMMAND" Value="configure" />
    <Command Name="MENUBASED" Value="False" />
    <Command Name="VIRTUALPROMPT" Value=">" />
    <Command Name="MORE" Value="---(more" />
    <Command Name="DOWNLOADCONFIG" Value="show configuration | display set" />
  </Commands>
</Configuration-Management>

Note: To copy content without line numbers, hover over the text and click the view source button (View Source). This opens a new window where you can select and copy text without any formatting or line numbering.

If the issue still does occur, try the below device template:
