NCM Report on Device Serial Numbers

Table of contents

Updated April 8th, 2016

Overview

Article details how to generate a report containing the serial numbers of devices managed by NCM.

Environment

  • NCM all versions

Detail

NCM is armored with set of reports, including Cisco Inventory Reports. One of reports - Cisco Chassis IDs - is listing devices' serial numbers for older Cisco Devices using the Old Cisco Mibs. The Physical Entity (Serial Number v2) will gather the data on more recent Devices and other vendors that support the Entity Mib. Data required to generate report is collected during Inventory Job which shall be executed on a scheduled basis.

Please Note : In order to make this report working you must need to add the node under NCM and Update Inventory .

Only then the Report will be able to collect and show the results.

Go to the Webconsole > Configs > Reports > Update Inventory > select the Vendor > Start Inventory
