Overview

This article provides steps to invoke database migration while upgrading to NCM 7.3 or later versions. Normally, the process shall trigger automatically as a part of the upgrade, but it can sometimes become necessary to migrate the data manually, for example, if some data has not been selected for migration, or the migration failed.

Environment

NCM 7.3 and later for migrating data from NCM for versions 7.2.2 and previous versions

Steps

To initiate database migration:

  1. Log in to the Orion server.
  2. Open following application (default path):
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM\SolarWinds.Orion.NCM.DatabaseMigration.exe
  3. Follow the instructions provided by the tool.

Note: Currently held NCM data will be overwritten.
