Overview

Config file backups for Citrix NetScaler 9.3 fails to complete.

Environment

  • All NCM versions

Cause

The command prompt is set to ">" and when NCM attempts to backup the config file and encounters this in the body, it treats this as if the config download is complete and disconnects or exits from the device.

Resolution

  1. Edit the device template used for the Citrix Netscaler to define the command prompt to contain the device name, 'DeviceName>'.
  2. The template should contain a pre-command to change the prompt to the Device Name:

<Command Name="PreCommand" Value="set cli prompt %u@%h"/>

For more information, see the Citrix NetScaler Command Reference Guide.
