Issue:

Jobs never complete.

When NCM queries to the database time-out, the web console continues to show the jobs as running. This issue is most likely to occur in an environment with a large number of nodes and multiple pollers that collectively put a large load on the SQL Server.

Solution:

Workaround: Disable the "running" jobs and then re-enable them.

Provision a SQL Server host with appropriate capacity to prevent SQL time-outs.
