Installing Solarwinds NCM failed ConfigurationWizard.exe in use

Overview

This article describes the following issue when upgrading NCM:

Installing Solarwinds NCM  failed ConfigurationWizard.exe in use 

C:\program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM\ConfigurationWizard.exe application are using files that needs to be updated by this setup. Close there files and then click retry to continue. 

 

 

Environment

NCM 7.0 and later

Cause 

Some other user running some activity under their account.

 

Resolution

  1. Reboot the server.
  2. Make sure no other user is logged in on the server.
  3. Re-run the NCM installer again.
