Overview

The following message appears in the NCM Real Time Change Notification even if the other nodes are working perfectly fine:

Failed to get real time change notification from some nodes

Environment

NCM 7.4 and later

Cause

The actual SYSLOG message from the device does not match with the RTCN Syslog alert created.

The device was sending User sysadmin logged command no logging console discriminator.

The above syslog message does not match with the Alert criteria to be alerted as configured for RTCN. Therefore, it failed to download the configuration.

Resolution

  1. Open Syslog Viewer > Start > All Programs >  SolarWinds Orion > Syslog & Traps > Syslog Viewer.
  2. Click the Yellow Alert Icon.
  3. Edit Syslog RTCN Alert then add the Syslog Message Patron so you will have the alert when this message will be sent through the device.
