Overview

The following error appears while executing a script (config change template) after upgrading to NCM 7.5:

Error:Entity ifIndex does not refer to a ManagementObject.

In OrionWeb.log message(s), similar to the following can be found:

2016-06-29 08:50:24,039 [109] ERROR SolarWinds.ConfigManagement.Core.Logger - AdvancedTask ExecuteScript Entity ifIndex does not refer to a ManagementObject.
2016-06-29 08:50:24,273 [111] ERROR SolarWinds.ConfigManagement.Core.Logger - AdvancedTask ExecuteScript Entity ifIndex does not refer to a ManagementObject.

Environment

NCM 7.5 and later

Cause

The script parser in NCM 7.5 has been modified and is case sensitive and ifIndex was changed to IfIndex (start with an uppercase letter I) in scope of NCM schema .

Resolution

Every instance of  @cdpEntry.ifIndex within Config Change Template(s) has to be replaced has with @cdpEntry.IfIndex.
