The following error occurs while running NCM configuration wizard after migration database / upgrade:
ERROR ConfigurationProgressScene - Error while executing script - The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'Options', database 'ConfigMgmt', schema 'dbo'.
The DELETE permission was denied on the object 'Options', database 'ConfigMgmt', schema 'dbo'.. Please check the ConfigurationWizard.log for details.
NCM 7.2 and earlier
Database user permission schema is not configured properly and the permission changed after the database migration.
a. Connect to the SQL Server using SQL Studio Mgmt Console.
b. Expand up to Security > logins > Right Click Logins > New Login > Select "SQL Server Authentication " chose c. your " Password" for that user .
(Deselect Enforce password policy )
c. Select Your NCM Database under Default database.
d. Select English under Default Language.
e. Now click on User Mapping > (select) your NCM DB.
f. Click the browse button under Default Schema. Click on Browse > select
[dbo] > OK > OK
g. Select "db_owner" under "database role membership for . (leave the public ticked as well )
h. Click OK now the new NCM user is been created.
If you get the following error, expand the NCM DB > Security > User > Delete the NCM User mentioned in the above Error in this case its "SolarWindsNCMUser".
Repeat step 1 and the rerun Configuration Wizard.
Edit the registry.
a. Go to Start > Run > Regedit.
b. Navigate to the Registry
c. Double Click on "KEY" 2 change the value data "True"
Rerun NCM Configuration Wizard:
Go to Start > All programs > SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager > SolarWinds NCM Configuration Wizard.
Select > Database & Services > Next > Select New SQL Server (Provide the New NCM User & credentials you just created under step 1 ) > Next > Select the NCM Database and complete the Configuration Wizard.
