This article provides steps on how to setup NCM to download device configuration through SNMP if you do not have device login credentials.

NCM version 7.0 and later

Note: You need to have Read/Write SNMP community string for the Node.

Creating NCM-SNMP Profile for device:

1. Go to Settings and click NCM Settings.

 Create New Profile as below.

2. Assign the Connection profile to the node.

3. Edit Node > NCM Properties > select the profile you have created.

  • Do not use the TEST button as it always fails.
  • Test button is for Telnet/SSH only

4. Go to the node and download the configuration.

On TFTP Server, you will see following logs which is saved in the DB.

The TFTP root will be used only for temporary purposes. This is automatically empty which is the default behavior as the device configuration is saved in the DB.
