Overview

This article addresses the question if there is a need to move the config archive folder after migrating to a new NCM application server.

Environment

NCM 7.0 and later

Detail

There is no need to migrate the Config Archive folder to the new NCM server when migrating NCM to the new application server. 

A copy of the device configuration is already saved in the database therefore, the Config Archive folder contains an extra copy of the configurations downloaded.

It is highly recommended to copy and save the Config Archive folder in a safe location for disaster recovery as the NCM database should not be used as long term storage.
