Custom table polling engine alert does not trigger

Updated June 20, 2017

Overview

This article describes an issue where a custom table polling engine alert does not trigger an NCM action.

Environment

All NCM versions

Cause

There is an issue with the object that triggers the alert. NCM uses this object as the IP address to run the action. This IP address does not work if it is monitored.

Resolution

Use the IP address of the node from the custom table polling engine:

  1. Go to Execute Config Script and select the Enter the IP address of the NCM node where the NCM action will execute option.
  2. Enter the following variable:
    ${N=SwisEntity;M=CustomPollerAssignment.Node.IP_Address}
