Create an NCM database user account

Overview

This article describes how to create a new NCM account used to manager your NCM database.

Note: You cannot create an account for the NCM database without having credentials for accessing the relevant SQL Server host.

Environment

NCM v7.2 and later versions

Steps

  1. Start the SolarWinds Configuration Wizard.
  2. Select Database, clear the other options, and then click Next.
  3. Enter the information for the SQL Server host, and then click Next.
  4. Select your database from the list and then click Next.
  5. Select Create a New Account.
  6. Enter a name and password and then click Next.
  7. Click Finish.
  8. Return to the NCM installer with the account credentials you have just created.
