Clear out theTransfer Queue when stuck

Overview

This article describes the issue when the transfer queue in NCM gets stuck and does not clear out when using it.

Environment

All versions of NCM

Cause 

This issue occurs when there are old transfer tasks in the queue which are stuck or the request is not getting through.

Resolution

NCM versions prior to 7.3 (7.1 to 7.2):

  1. Log in to the Orion server hosting NCM.
  2. Run Database Manager (Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager).
  3. Add Default Server
  4. Expand ConfigMgmt (NCM database)
  5. Right-click on table TransferQueue and select Query Table.
  6. Overwrite query with below one:
    TRUNCATE TABLE TransferQueue
  7. Click Execute Query.

 

NCM versions 7.3 and later:

  1. Log in to the Orion server hosting NCM.
  2. Run Database Manager (Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager).
  3. Add Default Server
  4. Expand NetPerfMon (Orion database)
  5. Right-click on table NCM_TransferQueue and select Query Table.
  6. Overwrite query with below one:
    TRUNCATE TABLE NCM_TransferQueue
  7. Click Execute Query.
