Netflow Interface Details charts do not load for certain interfaces

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when the Netflow Interface Details charts do not load for certain interfaces. The charts will only show the spinning loading wheel icon.  No errors or time outs are displayed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Environment

NTA 4.x and later

 

Cause 

The issue is caused when there is no value in bandwidth statement for the interfaces in NPM.  This is caused due to the device not responding when performing an SNMP discovery.

 

 

Resolution

  1. Log into the SolarWinds Web Console.
  2. Go to Manage nodes.
  3. Find the device in question.
  4. Select the interface that is having issues and click on "Edit Properties.
  5. Select "Custom Bandwidth" and enter the interface speeds for both "Transmit and Receive Bandwidth" and save the settings.

Now the correct Bandwidth is shown in the NPM Interface Details page.

 

     6. Go to the Netflow Interface Details page for the Interface in question and charts should not load without issues.
