NTA upgrade error: Empty hostname or IP address

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the following error when upgrading from NTA 4.0.3 running on 32 bit mode:

Error: Empty hostname or IP address.

Please enter a valid hostname or IP Address.

 

Environment

NTA version 4.0.3 or earlier

 

Cause 

The issue is caused when the application is installed on 32 bit machine.

Resolution

  1. Uninstall NTA from the Control Panel. 
  2. Install the new version of NTA that you would like to upgrade to.
