This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when NTA does not remove data older than the retention settings from FastBit database directory.

NTA version 4.0.X

The flow storage does not have the necessary permission to delete the data.

To manually repair permissions:

  1. Target Directories: The directory where the flow storage database is located.
  2. Right-click on the target directories, and then select Properties.
  3. Click Security.
  4. Check the Group of the user names list.
Note: Network Service should be listed and have modify permission.
    If it does not exist:
    1. Click Edit.
    2. Click Add, and enter the Principal name.
    3. Click Check Names, and then click OK.
    4. Select Full control, and then click OK to complete.
