NTA Summary slow performance: Recent NetFlow Posts Resource

This article provides steps to resolve the issue when NTA performs slow. See


  • NPM version 11.5.3
  • All NTA versions


1. Check OrionWeb.log for the error below:

2016-06-03 15:54:53,992 [63] WARN Orion_TrafficAnalysis_Resources_NetFlowTrafficSummary_Thwack - System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

2. Verify with Customer if they can ping the IP or if it is blocked.

3. Edit NTA Summary View by clicking on Customize Page and delete Recent NetFlow Posts Resource.
