NTA License Issue : Object Reference not set to an Instance of an Object

Overview

This article addresses the issue where the NTA pages on the Orion Web Console do not display and return the following error:

Unexpected Website Error. Object Reference not set to an Instance of an Object.

The following error is also found in the NTA Business Layer logs (volume\programdata\solarwinds\orion\logs\nta):

License Does Not Match Install Type

Environment

All NTA versions

Resolution

  1. Click Start and Run Regedit.
  2. Create a backup of the registry.
  3. Verify that the value for the following key is FULL:
    Computer/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Solarwinds/Orion/Core/Configuration
  4. Restart Orion services.
