Issue

NTA 4.0 or newer cannot start, the service is crashing in a loop.

Cause

The SolarWinds Flow Storage Service cannot start if the temporary files folder C:\Windows\Temp contains more than 65535 files. If you consult the log, you can find the following error there:
FastbitCLR.FastbitException: Failed to gather table partitions from disk. ---> System.IO.IOException: The file exists.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, remove all temporary files in C:/Windows/Temp.

Note: Removing all temporary files can take some time.
