NTA 4.2.1 Hotfix 3

Fixed issues

This cumulative hotfix addresses the following issues:

  • The installer is unable to deploy an Additional Poller or a second High Availability server.
  • The action Email web page for Top talker alerts.
  • Data and option template mismatch for NBAR2.
  • Crash of the Netflow service due to the error: Failed to append data to AdvancedApplicationID.

Install this hotfix on the server where Netflow is installed (Main poller, Additional poller, Additional website, Flow Storage Database).

Installation instructions

Option 1: Install the hotfix on the Main poller, Additional poller or Additional website.

  1. As an administrator, log in to the server where NTA is installed.
  2. Extract the hotfix archive, run SolarWinds-Orion-NTA-v4.2.1-HF3.exe, and follow the instructions in the installation wizard. The Orion Configuration Wizard launches automatically. If the wizard does not launch automatically, you can start it manually in the SolarWinds Orion program folder (SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard).

 

Option 2: Install the hotfix on the Netflow Flow storage database, if you have the Netflow Flow Storage Database installed on a SEPARATE server from NPM and NTA.

  1. As an administrator, log in to the server where the NTA Flow storage database is installed.
  2. Extract the hotfix archive, run SolarWinds-Orion-NTA-v4.2.1-HF3.exe, and follow the instructions in the installation wizard. The NTA Flow Storage Database Configuration Wizard launches automatically. If the wizard does not launch automatically, you can start it manually in the SolarWinds Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer program folder (SolarWinds Orion > NetFlow Traffic Analyzer > NTA Flow Storage Database Configurator).

Uninstallation instructions

  1. As an administrator, log in to the server where the Netflow Flow Storage Database is installed.
  2. Navigate to Installed Updates. For example: Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates.
  3. Right-click Update for SolarWinds Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 4.2.1 (HF3) under the group SolarWinds Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 4.2, select Uninstall, and complete the uninstallation.
