These release notes provide additional guidance for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) v3.11.0.
NTA version 3.11 includes the following new features and improvements:
NTA now supports CBQoS nested policies. You can display class and policy trees for each direction with CBQoS resources in Interface Views, and configure Alerts and Reports for your CBQoS-enabled devices with nested policies.
CBQoS polling can now handle larger amounts of data, improving NTA performance. The load on SQL has been lessened thus improving the polling performance and enabling better scalability of additional pollers.
NTA now supports sampled NetFlow data for devices that support selected fields. NTA automatically takes into account the sample rate set on your devices and displays ingress and egress statistics appropriately.
For more information about supported fields, see Sampled Flow Supported Fields in the NTA online help.
NTA improved the way you can access specific endpoints very quickly. In addition to IP Address filtering, you can use the improved Endpoint filter in the Flow Navigator to filter subnets by just typing in an IP address range or using the CIDR notation. The Flow Navigator also allows you to search for CBQoS policies, both for the policies that are currently active and for policies that used to be applied in the past.

Lazy Upgrade Performance
If you monitor more than 50 million endpoints in NTA, the upgrade from NTA 3.9 to NTA 3.11 can take more than one day. The background synchronization of NTA tables goes on even after you finish the Configuration Wizard. This type of upgrade is called "lazy upgrade." The lazy upgrade might also result in a generally higher database load, so other performance of modules in the same environment could also be affected. When the upgrade finishes, performance returns to normal.
Unsupported Subviews Activation
When NTA 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, and 3.11 are used with SolarWinds NPM, it is possible to configure NTA's Customize Page feature to show or hide SolarWinds NPM subviews that NTA does not support.
Sampled NetFlow Display IssuesSome devices treat sampled flows as non-sampled flows, such as flexible NetFlow, JFlow and NetFlow v 5. In these cases, NTA displays data scaled down by the sampling factor.
NTA 3.8 has entered the End-Of-Life (EOL) cycle. This means that SolarWinds will no longer provide any form of support (such as covering call, engineering updates, etc.) for NTA version 3.8 or older. See the SolarWinds EOL Policy online for more information.
