Where do I install the NTA Flow Storage database for NTA 4.4 and later?

Environment

  • NTA 4.4 and later

Detail

There are two supported types of deployment:

  • Orion Database and NTA Flow Storage database on different SQL server instances
    • Orion Database running on a SQL Server 2012 or later instance.
    • Flow Storage database running on a SQL Server 2016 SP1 or later instance.
  • Orion Database and NTA Flow Storage database on the same SQL server
    • This is the default deployment that is installed with SQL Server 2016 SP1 Express during Express / Evaluation / Lightweight installation. After the evaluation period ends, we recommend changing the deployment type and SQL Server edition from Express to a higher one.
    • You must use SQL Server 2016 SP1 or later to deploy this option.
