Overview

This article provides brief information when you are unable to see endpoints beyond the core switch.

Workstation’s gateway is the 4506 device (no Netflow configured since additional module is required).
Traffic from workstation going out the WAN is indicated above.
Netflow is configured in the 6509 device on vlan 300.
Connectivity between 4506 and 6509 is via vlan 300 and with EIGRP configured.

The only top endpoints from the switches 4506 (where the workstations are connected).

Environment

All NTA versions

Cause

For Cisco 6509 the only Endpoint is Cisco 4506 therefore, flow packets will be unable to determine each workstation beyond Cisco 4506 .

Resolution

You must need to configure Netflow to your core switch in order to see the LAN Endpoints. Only then,  will you be able to see each workstation.
