Netflow service crashes after upgrading to 4.2.2 full version

Updated March 29, 2017

Overview

After upgrading Netflow from 4.2.2 RC1 ( Release Candidate 1) to 4.2.2 GA ( General Availability), the Netflow service crashes.

Error shows:

2017-03-03 08:33:02,083 [9] ERROR

SolarWinds.Orion.Common.SWEventLogging - Unhandled exception - Disk free space

information [Temp - [C:] - 36307079168 bytes free, DB - [C:] - 36307079168

bytes free] : Could not load file or assembly 'SolarWinds.Interfaces.Common,

Version=3.0.0.53, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its

dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Environment

  • NTA 4.2.2 RC1
  • NTA 4.2.2 GA

Cause

This is due to some DLLs files not being overwritten during the initial upgrade process.

Resolution

Once the initial upgrade has completed, if Netflow services restart, re-run the installer, and complete the Configuration Wizard.  This will put back the missing files back into the install directory.
