WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

NetFlow pages slowly load when displaying multiple pages

Updated April 25, 2017

NetFlow pages take a long time to display when loading multiple pages. The NetFlow Flow Storage server memory usage shows 90-100% capacity, and then drops after the pages have loaded.

NTA 4.x

This behavior occurs when there is not enough RAM. A larger NetFlow database memory is needed to load multiple pages at the same time or load large data sets, such as data sets with longer time periods. The NetFlow Flow Storage server uses memory when performing these actions even if it normally displays a low usage level.

SolarWinds recommends adding server memory to increase the RAM.

As an additional enhancement, you can move the NetFlow Flow Storage swap file.
