WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

High volume of traffic from the NTA server

Table of contents

Overview

This article provides brief information on the issue when NTA receives a high volume of traffic from the SolarWinds server to devices.

NTA: Unknown traffic was received

Environment

NTA version 3.11

Detail

The NTA system just listens on port 2055, the NTA server does not send request or generates traffic from the NTA server to your NTA configured devices.

The message NTA: Unknown traffic was received is telling you that the NetFlow Receiver Service is receiving a NetFlow data stream from an unmanaged device. The NetFlow data stream from that device will be discarded. Please use Orion Node management to manage this IP address in order to process this NetFlow data stream, or just use Manage this device.
