NTA doesn't display data after migration

Overview

NTA shows no data after migration.

Environment

  • NTA 4.0 through 4.2.3

Cause

The Flow Storage configurator log displays the following errors:
2018-03-02 08:51:42,359 [7] ERROR RegistryHelper - Error while deleting register: Software\SolarWinds\Orion\NetFlow Traffic Analyzer Installer\SqlConnectionPreConfigured. Error: System.ArgumentException: No value exists with that name.
   at Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey.DeleteValue(String name, Boolean throwOnMissingValue)
   at SolarWinds.Netflow.Utils.RegistryHelper.DeleteRegistryValue(String subkey, String registryName)
2018-03-02 08:51:42,406 [7] WARN  InstallHelper - Unable to delete SqlConnectionPreConfigured register. Setting value to 0

Resolution

The issue can be resolved by repairing the NTA module on the affected polling engines.

  1. Go to the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  2. Locate the NetFlow module.
  3. Right click > select Repair.

 

The Flow Storage configurator log should show the following after the repair:
