Issue

NTA Flow Storage is not fully installed on a computer with Japanese locale if the NTA Flow Storage is located in a folder whose name contains non-ASCII characters. As a result, NTA Service is crashing in cycles.

Cause

NTA does not fully support folder names with non-ASCII characters.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a new folder and name it using ASCII characters, for example NTAFlowStorage.

Note: Make sure the whole path to the new folder contains only ASCII characters.

  2. Start the SolarWinds NTA Flow Storage Configurator in the SolarWinds Orion > NetFlow Traffic Analyzer program folder.
  3. Specify the new folder as the destination folder for your NTA Flow Storage and complete the wizard.
