Overview

This article provides brief information on the options for integrating Orion with third-party NetFlow Collectors.

The Orion suite has its own NetFlow Collector known as NTA, this article will not discuss using NTA, however, it is possible to send flow information to both a third-party flow collector and NTA, removing any need for further integration.

Environment

All versions of Orion where NTA is not deployed

Detail

It is possible for Orion to receive third-party information:

  • Syslogs
  • SNMP Traps
  • Depending on the Orion modules installed it is possible to poll over various monitoring protocols such as SNMP WMI, PowerShell, etc.
  • The Orion SDK can also be used to insert data directly into the Orion database.
