Fortigate device does not work with NTA

Overview

The NTA website is not displaying any data after configuring the Fortinet device to send flow data to the NTA collector.

Environment

  • All NTA versions
  • Fortinet Firmware v 5.0.3

Cause

The flow data sent from the Fortigate node to your collector is either missing or has an ifindex number value of zero in the flow template packet, rather than the actual Interface Index ID.

Resolution

This is a known issue in earlier versions of Forti OS 5.0.3 and was fixed in v 5.0.4. Upgrade your unit to v 5.0.4 or the latest version.
