When you upgrade to NTA 4.4, all existing Flow Storage data become inaccessible in the product. It is not possible to migrate flow data to NTA 4.4 from a previous version of NTA.

  • NTA 4.4

NTA 4.4 requires MS SQL Server 2016 SP1 Standard or Enterprise edition for the Flow Storage Database. NTA 4.2.3 and earlier uses the FastBit database engine as a Flow Storage Database. You cannot migrate flow data when you upgrade to NTA 4.4, but at the same time data are not removed from FastBit. You can back up your data, but you cannot access them through NTA.

Non-flow data, such as applications or IP groups, will be preserved.

Although you will not have access to pre-NTA 4.2.3 data via the Orion Web Console, you can restore the backup elsewhere and continue using your current version.
