Overview

Occasionally, in a chart that is displaying No Data Available, you can display data properly when further constraining the displayed data in the chart by reducing the timeframe or changing the direction displayed to only ingress or egress.

 

This seems counterintuitive, but the cause of the behavior is revealed when viewing the NTA.BusinessLayer.log:

ERROR ResourceChartService - (null) Error while quering data in Async object: 'Exception: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. Couldn't store <numerical value> in TotalBytes Column

Environment

All NTA versions

 

Cause 

This is caused by a queried value that is too large to be displayed in the resource.

 

Most often, this is due to an incorrect byte value exported by an NTA device as described in the article below:

Resolution

Pursue a bug resolution with the device vendor to prevent the incorrect value from being exported by the device.
