Overview

Do I need SQL installed on the machine that the NTA Flow Storage Database will be installed on?

This article applies NTA 4.2 and earlier. NTA 4.4 and later versions use a SQL Server database to store flow data. For more information, see Databases used by SolarWinds modules.

Environment

  • NTA 4.2 and earlier

Detail

No, NTA Flow Storage Database is not a SQL DB. The NTA Flow Storage Database utilizes a flat file database called Fastbit. This is included in the installer for an NTA 4.0.x version that you install.
