Database configuration failed: "Error while executing script - Invalid object name"

Overview

The following error appears when you run the Configuration wizard after an upgrade:

Database Configuration failed: Error while executing script - Invalid object name NetflowDetail_103_1533955

Environment

  • NTA 3.11
  • NPM 10.6

Cause

The issue is caused by views that exist in the SQL database for NetFlow tables that do not exist.

Resolution

Before doing any work on your Orion database, make sure that you have a current backup, as this will make a permanent change to your database.

  1. Access the Database Manager (Start > Programs and Features > Database Manager).
  2. Connect to the Orion database (Add Server > select the name of the database server from the list > click Connect).
  3. Click the + next to Database Name and expand the SolarWinds database.
  4. Go to Views and verify if the view NetflowDetail_103_1533955 exists.
  5. Go to Tables and verify if the table NetflowDetail_103_1533955 exists. If not, delete the view NetflowDetail_103_1533955 using the command: DROP VIEW 'NetflowDetail_103_1533955'
  6. Re-run the Configuration wizard and complete the installation.
