Configuration Wizard says CK_NetFlowAppsOld is NOCHECK but CK_NetFlowApps is CHECK

Updated June 28, 2018

Overview

When upgrading to NTA 4.4 the Configuration Wizard returns the following error:

Database configuration failed:
Error while executing script- ALTER TABLE SWITCH statement failed. Check constraint 'CK_NetFlowAppsOld' in source table 'SolarWindsOrion.dbo.NetFlowAppsOld' is NOCHECK constraint but the matching check constraint 'CK_NetFlowApps' in target table 'SolarWindsOrion.dbo.NetFlowApps' is CHECK.

Environment

  • Orion environment where NTA is being upgraded to 4.4

Cause

Within the CK_NetFlowAppsOld constraint Check Existing Data on Creation or Re-Enabling is set to No, but in CK_NetFlowApps this field is set to Yes.

Resolution

  1. Exit the Configuration Wizard.
  2. Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the SQL instance hosting the NetPerfMon database.
  3. Expand tables, and expand the CK_NetFlowApps and CK_NetFlowAppsOld tables, and expand the Constraints for each table.
  4. Double click on CK_NetFlowApps and take a screen shot of the settings.
  5. Double click on CK_NetFlowAppsOld and set  Check Existing Data on Creation or Re-Enabling to Yes.

  6. Make any other changes necessary to have CK_NetFlowAppsOld match CK_NetFlowAppsOld.
  7. Save changes to the constraint.
  8. Run the Configuration Wizard again.
