Overview

Can I install the NTA Flow Storage Database on the Orion/NPM server that is hosting the SQL DB?

Environment

  • NTA 4.x

Detail

Yes, you can install the NTA Flow Storage on this box, but this is not recommended. If your only option is to run on this server, please ensure that the NTA Flow Storage Database is installed on a separate partition with a disk dedicated for storage. Highest end machines for this deployment require 16+ cores and 3GHz CPUs, 64-128GB of RAM. Smaller environments collecting less than 1,000 flows per second do not require a high end server.
