How do I estimate how many flows per second my device is sending?

 

Environment

  • NTA 4.x

Execute the show command from the CLI prompt of the appropriate device.

To find out what your flows per second average is for a specific time frame:

 

  1. Log on to the appropriate device.
  2. Execute clear ip flow stats in the CLI prompt.
  3. Wait the appropriate time.
  4. Run show ip cache flow after the appropriate time elapses.

 

Note: The commands might differ depending on your device and its IOS version. Check with your vendors configuration guide for appropriate commands.
