Home > Success Center > Netflow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) > Database configuration failed: "Error while executing script - Invalid object name"

Database configuration failed: "Error while executing script - Invalid object name"

Overview

The following error appears when the Configuration Wizard is run after an upgrade:

Database Configuration failed: "Error while executing script- Invalid object name "NetflowDetail_103_1533955

Environment

NPM 10.6 and NTA  3.11

Resolution

  1. Access the Database Manager (Start > Programs and Features > Database Manager)
  2. Connect to the Orion database. (Add Server > select the name of the database server from the list > Click Connect)
  3. Before doing any work on your database please make sure that you have a current backup, as this will make a permanent change to your database.

Note: To backup the database, refer to the Video Tutorial.

  4. Click the + next to Database Name and expand the Solarwinds database
  5. Go to views and verify if the view 'NetflowDetail_103_1533955' exists.
  6. Go to tables and verify if the table 'NetflowDetail_103_1533955' exists. If not, delete the view 'NetflowDetail_103_1533955' using the command:
    1. DROP VIEW 'NetflowDetail_103_1533955'
  7. Re-run the configuration wizard and complete the installation.

Cause

This is a known issue and it is caused by views that exist in SQL for Netflow tables that do not exist.
