Collect NetFlow Data From Non-Management IP Address of Router

Overview

This article provides steps to enable NTA to collect NetFlow data from device that is exporting NetFlow data from an interface that is not the management interface.

Steps

NTA can process data from a device when it is exported from an IP Address other than the Management IP Address.

There are a couple caveats though.

 

1. Enable 'Allow Matching Nodes by Another IP Address in Settings' > NetFlow Settings on the web console.

2. The IP address that is exporting NetFlow data must be in the Orion database and associated with the target node. All     IP addresses that Orion detects on the node will be in the NodeIpAddresses table in the Orion database.

3. There must be a route from the ip address that is exporting the NetFlow data to the Orion server.

    Once these conditions have been met, NTA will be able to process the data from this device.
