Overview

Can I install the NTA Flow Storage Database on a local poller (main or additional)?

Environment

  • NTA 4.x

Detail

We do not recommend this deployment option because it does not bring so significant performance improvement as having the NTA Flow Storage database on a separate server. However, if you decide to have the database on the same server as your NTA/NPM installation, the database should at least be installed on a separate partition/dedicated disk of the server, and the server should be on the higher end of specs, such as 8 cores @ 3 GHz CPUs, 16-32 GB of RAM and a fast disk.

Starting with NTA 4.2, the NTA Flow Storage Database is no longer supported on additional pollers and additional websites, and needs to be installed on a dedicated server. This includes NTA versions 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.
