Overview

The following services and programs cannot be accessed while managing Windows 8.1 or 2012 R2:

  • Command prompt
  • IIS
  • Task Manager
  • Services
  • Printers

Environment

Mobile Admin 8.1 and earlier

Cause

Certain services require elevated privileges in Windows 8.1 or 2012 R2 that a user with local administrator privileges does not have.

Resolution

Use the built-in administrator account to perform these actions.
